Ruby Carousel® Barberry, Berberis thunbergii 'Bailone', is a showy plant that displays an upright, rounded form along with attractive, red-purple foliage. It makes an excellent accent plant and a good barrier hedge plant because of the thorns. Ruby Carousel® Barberry prefers a moist, yet well-drained soil. Ruby Carousel® Barberry grows to about 3-4 feet high with a spread of 3 feet. It is noted for its excellent red colour and uniform habit that is low and rounded. Its stems and branches are grooved slightly and angled. A thicket of Ruby Carousels provides many landscape possibilities.
