The Begonia Mandalay Mandarin, Begonia x tuberhybrida Begonia Mandalay™ Mandarin, produces single flowers (they look like hoop-skirted belles of the ball) and their bright colors and hanging nature are enchanting. The brilliant red orange Mandalay™ Mandarin will stop people in their tracks! The Mandalays will thrive in bright sunlight, and this sets them apart from most Begonias. In the South and on the West Coast, a filtered or dappled sun location would be more apropos in the heat of the summer. It has both heat and humidity tolerance and has survived through the summer in Florida in pots. This plant can be a perennial in zones 9-11. In zones 3-8 it is an annual only.
