Blazing Star - White

The Liatris White, 'Laitris spicata'', has white, very attractive flower spikes that are 3-4' tall that bloom from the top down. The stems are covered with a grass-like foliage of dark green. This showy native prairie plant is easy to grow and long-lasting in the garden. . Flowering in summer, the plant size ranges from two to five feet tall and as wide. This plant works great for tall borders, or in masses or containers. Good for naturalized areas or cutting gardens. Because it can get lost if planted alone, plant in groups of three, five or more for full effect. Excellent fresh or dried cut flower. Prefers a well-drained to dry soil and full sun.
