Clematis - Rahvarinne

Clematis Rahvarinne, Clematis 'Rahvarinne', is an excellent variety for adding color for your late summer garden. Purplish-red blooms have wide petals that curl under at the tips to give the flower a rounded appearance. Blooms profusely from July through September! It's another great selection from the late Uno Kivistik. Clematis 'Rahvarinne' needs a supporting structure to grow properly. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply a generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Very reliable performers once established; they take a season or two. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems.
