Clematis - Ramona

Clematis Ramona, Clematis 'Ramona', has perfectly formed lavender-blue 8" flowers with contrasting dark red anthers. A very attractive flower color that is complimented with healthy green foliage. Reblooms in early autumn and flowers best in sunny locations. Pruning can be group 2 or 3, although a hard prune (group 3) will result in loss of early flowers. Clematis 'Ramona' needs a supporting structure to grow properly. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply a generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Very reliable performers once established; they take a season or two. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems.
