Clematis - Ruby Glow

Clematis Ruby Glow, Clematis 'Ruby Glow', is a long blooming variety which blooms profusely in June and then continues through August. 'Ruby Glow' produces 5-6" ruby-rose flowers with red anthers and reddish centers to each flower petal. Its lovely color glows in the landscape! A Canadian hybrid that was introduced to the trade by the late Jim Fisk in 1975. Clematis 'Ruby Glow' needs a supporting structure to grow properly, and it is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil that has plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply a generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Very reliable performers once established; they take a season or two. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems.
