Solanum Cherokee Purple (USDA Organic) Tomato), Solanum lycopersicum 'Cherokee Purple Tomato', was originally passed down from the Cherokee tribe of Native Americans and is a Tennessee Heirloom. 'Cherokee Purple' is a reliable producer of medium purple-brown fruits with darker shoulders. Fruits are round to oblong with no cracking and average 8 to 12 oz. This heirloom exhibits tolerance to mild drought as well as to common diseases. The Cherokee Purple tomatoes are absolutely delicious with a pleasantly sweet and rich flavor. Grows well in the South.
